WE HAVE MOVED

We have moved to the suburbs, namely Monte Vista, nearby N1 City, just off the N1. Peaceful, no traffic and lots of parking. It is heaven compared to the city.

 

2009 End of year message

It is the end of another very busy and complex year. Phew!!  Our world of insurance and investments is changing, becoming more complex and always offering new challenges. To keep pace with the ever changing compliance regulations alone has required most of our Compliance Officer’s attention and time.

In order to keep ahead of the game, a few years ago, we started the process of splitting our functions into specialised groups. It has been a purposefully slow transition in order to be as seamless as possible. This has worked and we have decided to formalise our positions.

Investment and Risk Insurance

Bob’s primary focus will continue to be on investments. Risk business and needs analysis for his existing clients will remain his function but all new clients will be directed to Jeff when it comes to Life Risk Insurance (Life Disability, Medical Aid etc)

Jeff will continue to focus on Risk Insurance. Investment business for his existing clients will remain his function but all new large investments will be directed to Bob so they can receive the attention they deserve. By allocating one discipline each as a primary function, Bob and Jeff will become more proficient in the more complex products coming to the market. They will therefore be in a better position to offer a more professional service to you, the client.

Short-Term Insurance

The more intricate and labour intensive portion of our business, being the short-term insurance, domestic and business, had to be dealt with first.

Perhaps we should briefly mention some history:

Some years ago we chose to join Broker Collectives to professionalise our short-term book. Broker Collectives became the administrator allowing us to remain compliant in that all staff dealing with your policies were licensed and properly trained to do so. The licensing itself was a mammoth task and could not have been done under the old structure or without Tim Chadwick’s participation.

The moving of the administration to Broker Collectives has indeed met our desired expectation despite some teething problems experienced. It is now necessary to implement the next step. Broker Collectives is wholly owned by our associate Tim Chadwick, who many of you have met over these past 3 years. Tim also owns Chadwick’s Risk & Insurance Brokers who is also part of Broker Collectives.

With new legislation forced upon us, much of what we achieved with this timeous decision will catch up with us should we not implement the second phase. Therefore, we hereby announce that our short-term book will be merged with Chadwick’s Risk & Insurance Brokers.

What is achieved by this move is that Chadwick’s Insurance Brokers and Broker Collectives will in effect be one and the same, specialising in short-term insurance only. Naturally, this move will be seamless as you will not be required to do anything at all. All contact numbers, addresses, contact people will remain exactly the same.

New business and referrals to your friends and acquaintances, as in the past, will always be welcome. Please continue to refer new business to Jeff who will gladly assist in co-ordinating the implementation thereof.

Tim and the staff at Chadwick’s are fully trained and fully compliant. You will find Tim as eager as Bob or Jeff to help, so please do not hesitate to make use of his expertise as well.
